Solid Rock Productions is the Drama Ministry of Church on the Rock Outreach Center. It is a multi-faceted ministry which includes: Illustrated Sermons, Sign-Language, Damascus Road, Human Videos,and full, theatrical productions.
Kim Hensley is the creative mind behind Solid Rock Productions. She directs all the Solid Rock Productions drama efforts. She and her husband, Pastor Toney work hand in hand on many of these projects. Kim choreographs most of the Human Videos done by the Youth Fine Arts Competition Team.
Kim has a support staff that includes: Pastor Daniel McCarroll, Assistant Director and Music; Ed Blair, Props, Audio and Lighting; Cheryl Hoelscher, Costumes; and Sonny Zeiler, Stage Crew Director. Kim credits her support staff with the success of the dramatic productions. She couldn't do it without her team.
Pastor Daniel McCarroll is assistant director of Solid Rock Productions. He and Kim work together to produce dramatic presentations unparalleled in the Kansas City area. He has a passion for seeing the Gospel presented through drama. Pastor Daniel also works with the Youth Fine Arts Competition Team, Human Videos and the music aspects of drama.
Liz Major oversees the Kids Sign-Language Drama Group. Kids age 7 through 12 are involved in this ministry. Liz trains our youngest kids in using their hands and their faces to express worship to God. This is not just a ministry for kids to kids. This group has ministered at Kids Camp in Southern Missouri, White Ridge Nursing Home, here in Lee's Summit as well as during our Sunday morning service to the adult congregation.Kids Sign-Language is great preparation for Youth Drama when the kids are older. Fine Arts competition is an annual event of the Assemblies of God designed specifically for youth, ages 12-18 years. It is a valuable opportunity for students to discover and develop their ministry gifts. They participate in such areas as: Visual Art, Christian T-Shirt Design, Comedy, Drama Solo, Vocal Solo, Graphic Design, Instrumental Solo, Poetry, Sermon, Video Production, Website Design, Christian Band, Human Video, Sign Language, Songwriting, Worship Band and other areas. Fine Arts is an excellent opportunity for students to share their ministry gifts with others.
